MLB commissioner Rob Manfred still hasn’t changed the single dumbest decision Bud Selig ever made. Too many years have passed since the infamous All-Star tie game which prompted Selig to completely overreact. His move to make this game actually count by awarding home field edge in the World Series to the winner of the game remains one of the stupidest ideas of all time.
The All-Star game has been around for 0ver 80 years and was only supposed to be an exhibition featuring the best players of the two leagues. Before interleague play there was a lot of pride on the line but having interleague action throughout the season along with all the games on t.v. makes this game only a true exhibition. The Selig Rule has to be changed and soon. My suggestion is to award home field advantage to the team with the best overall team record - just as it was for those 80 years. Using the All-Star game result isn’t and puts MLB in the class of a carnival.

.......... muses about ballgames and life in Las Vegas - particularly the long hours spent in the casino sports book surrounded by sexy cocktail waitresses, degenerate horse players, the Whale Man's entourage ....and the sheer terror of having Under 7 with 5 runs already on the board by the fourth inning".
